Cryptocurrency - A Guide to Crypto and digital currencies, and how theses virtual assests work

Cryptocurrency is digital currency, and uses cryptography for transactions. Cryptocurrencies do not use a central regulation system such as a bank or government authority for transactions. These virtual currencies rely on publically distributed digital ledgers called blockchains to transfer, record, and secure transactions. 

In other words, computerized ledgers enable the parties to a transaction to use money they claim to have, for funds to transfer between the parties involved. These transactions, which are verified by blockchain technology cannot be changed.

This ability for verification prevents web hackers from introducing  fraudulent transactions, and thereby establishes trust among its users in a peer-to-peer virtual universe. 

Cryptocurrency does not exist in physical form. At present the most valuable form of cryptocurrency is Bitcoin. Other popular forms are Ethereum, and Binance Coin. The list of the most valuable cryptocurrencies is always evolving. 

Digital currency has the potential to alter completely how people view money  With Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and other cryptocurrencies which exist on your computer in electronic form as in blockchain technology global central banks are involved in emerging technologies to lay a foundation for how national digital currencies might work.

Electronic versions of currency already are already in use in many countries’ financial systems. But there is a key difference from other electronic payments, such as ACH transfers, or PayPal. Digital Cryptocurrency is never a physical form of money, and thereby will enter your account almost instantly, and can never be taken back.

Cryptocurrency examples: There are hundreds of valid cryptocurrencies. What follows are the more popular Cryptocurrencies, in addition to the more well known.

Bitcoin (BTC)  At present Bitcoin founded in 2009, is the first cryptocurrency, most popular, and most often traded. Bitcoin was developed by Satoshi Nakamoto –   a pseudonym for a group of people whose identity remains unknown

Ethereum (ETH) is the second most popular cryptocurrency traded. Developed in 2015, Ethereum is a blockchain with its own cryptocurrency, called Ether (ETH) or Ethereum.
